Rebekah Sauder

VIOLIN TEACHER

PRIVATE RATE: 30 min - $25, 60 min - $50

Rebekah holds a bachelor of Music in Music Pedagogy from Lancaster Bible College. She has played and performed with the Lancaster Academy of the Performing Arts, the Lancaster Bible College orchestra, Franklin and Marshall College Orchestra, and Servant Stage Company. Rebekah had the privilege of playing the role of the fiddler in LBC’s 2015 production of Fiddler on the Roof. During her time at LBC, she also had the opportunity to work with SWAN, a local organization that provides musical training and mentoring to children affected by parental incarceration.

Rebekah seeks to understand the learning style and musical goals of each student in order to best help them succeed in their musical journey. She incorporates a variety of music styles into her teaching, including classical, Celtic, and sacred music. Many string students are only taught to read printed sheet music. However, she has found that the ability to play by ear and to improvise greatly increases one’s musical opportunities. It also makes playing an instrument a lot more fun! Helping students learn these skills is one of her favorite parts of teaching. Rebekah believes that music is life-changing, and she can’t wait to help you or your student on the journey of discovering the joy and richness it adds to life.
